 Welcome to Jeffco Mounted Search and Rescue we always enjoy new and returning visitors.  Here you will find information about our organization and links to other search and rescue organizations. We are a mounted horse unit trained in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, land navigation, personal and equine survival and other outdoor skills.  Augmented by radio, GPS and satellite phone equipment, we use well-trained horses capable of searching large tracts of forest land, snowmobile trails, fields and other terrain to locate downed aircraft, hunters or hikers lost in the woods, or respond to other emergency situations.  We are designed to complement, not replace, services provided by law enforcement, volunteers on foot or all-terrain vehicles. The unit is Jefferson County's CART designated livestock evacuation provider. Jefferson County Animal Control Manager will provide references upon request.  We are also available to other counties / police departments or agencies as needed, we hope to be of assistance to you.
